Hardest Power to Master

“Sometimes the hardest power to master is the power of yielding” Hestia, Goddess of Hearth and Home.

The juxtaposition of the two main words in her phrase, ‘power’ of ‘yielding’ might seem odd. We usually think of yielding as giving up or admitting defeat. Yet the basic principle in the ancient and powerful Chinese martial art, Tai Chi Chuan, is yielding. When an opponent is applying pressure, just one turn of the waist can topple them. Our egos definitely don’t like the idea of yielding, which is why it is so hard to master. Yet nothing can bring us more joyfully into alignment with truth and harmony than yielding in the present moment to…

What is.
