Our decisions and actions are driven by our beliefs, many of which were adopted before we were able to understand their relevance or truth. Some are contradictory and create internal conflict, while others are innocuous. Anxiousness, fear and stagnation are signs that we're at the effect of beliefs that don't support our well-being. The way to deal with counter-productive, self-sabotaging beliefs is to investigate them. What underlying thought makes us feel uneasy? Can we really know it's true?
