The Cycles of Good and Bad

Some challenges feel so bad it’s hard to imagine we’ll ever recover. That’s when it’s most important not to deny or stuff our anguish. Feeling our feelings is a central part of moving through hardships. But even at the lowest point, we can remind ourselves that upsides always follow downsides. There’s often a lag between the hardship and our ability to perceive the benefit, but it’s important to remember that, no matter how bad things seem in any particular moment, nothing exists without its opposite. The pain almost always turns into…

Gratitude.
