Telling ourselves that we’re supposed to be somewhere else, doing something else is telling ourselves a lie. It’s coming from another lie that we’re not enough. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to improve our perspective, enthusiasm or performance, but self-acceptance comes from remembering the millions of minute factors beyond our control that have coalesced to create this moment just as it is.
