Our Essential Self

Children raised by adults who focus on keeping them ‘in line’ find their natural instincts to explore met with restraint or even shame. This creates people who feel like there’s something inherently wrong with them. While it takes serious determination to recover from this kind of compromised self-esteem, it is possible. When we experience feelings of unworthiness (and most of us do), the first step is to regularly practice accepting ourselves exactly as we are right now. No matter what’s happened, our essence has not been touched. That’s who we really are, and it’s…

Perfect.
