Staying Present

The biggest benefit of learning to stay present in the moment is how much relief we feel. When we’re focused on what’s happening now, we’re not polluting our awareness with stuff that’s worrisome, anxiety producing or disappointing. Preoccupation with past or future is like dragging heavy luggage around that wears us down mentally and emotionally. When we’re present, we walk with a spring in our step and a smile on our faces.
