Ways to Know Thyself

While it’s normal to feel put off when people are rude, disrespecting or otherwise unconscious, most of our judgments tell us more about ourselves than they do about the ones we’re judging. The more triggered we feel, the more likely we’re seeing ourselves in their reflection. A great technique we learned from Byron Katie is to turn our judgments around. Writing out our feelings about them and then going back and substituting their name with '“I” is revealing. It takes a degree of self-honesty and a desire to truly know ourselves, but the exercise is a full-proof way of seeing how everything is a mirror. Life offers amazing tricks for us to…

Know ourselves.
