A Fine Line

Some spiritual traditions identify attachment as one of the root causes of unhappiness. If we want something we don’t have, our level of dissatisfaction will correspond to how attached we are. The same is true when we don’t want something we do have. Yet managing our lives in the physical world requires having preferences, setting goals, and taking action. Learning to walk the line between achieving our desires when we can, and feeling at peace even when we can’t, requires a quality that needs to be cultivated…
