Our Feelings

Although most of us don’t really like to experience our own or others’ anger, it’s a normal emotion. Just watching any baby shows us how natural it is. When babies don’t get what they want, they go ballistic until they’re soothed and satisfied. If our caretakers acknowledge our feelings, we feel seen and heard and learn through their mirroring to acknowledge our own feelings rather than repress them. If we didn’t get that gift, we still can learn to recognize our true feelings as natural. Feeling and expressing them appropriately helps us learn to love ourselves…

Unconditionally.
