The amount of drama in our lives is a sign of how conscious we are. Feeling victimized, making people wrong or trying to get others to collude with us means that we’re not taking responsibility for what shows up. When we’re busy arguing about what’s already happened, we’re too distracted to enjoy the present moment. The more self-aware we are, the less tolerance we have for wasting precious time and energy engaging in behavior that lowers our quality of life.
