What Makes Us Happy?
Over the course of 74 years, a Harvard study tracked a group of 724 men, who were teenagers at the time, collecting various types of personal information regarding their health and wellbeing. They discovered two main reasons for happiness. The chief determinant for happiness is, not surprisingly, the quality of our relationships. They found that personal connection creates a ‘mental and emotional boost’, while isolation brings us down.
