It takes courage to admit that the way we perceive someone has more to do with our filter than with who they actually are. It also takes conscious effort to see through a tricky ego that prefers to attribute responsibility for undesirable aspects of life onto others. When we catch ourselves blaming someone, it’s revealing to ask ourselves if we’re really surprised with the the way things are.
