The Truth About Judgments

The intensity of the judgments you have about others reveals how strongly you judge yourself for the same offenses. To demonstrate, next time one pops up, insert your own name in place of theirs (‘Joe is mean’ turns in to ‘I am mean’) Can you see the truth of this? The very thought that ‘Joe is mean’ is actually you having a mean thought about Joe. Just like you learned in kindergarten…

What you say is what you are.

Attention is Powerful

What you focus your energy on determines the results. Focus on a fear, you feel anxiety. Concentrate on a problem, it becomes magnified. Contemplate your love, it grows. Search for a solution, you find it. Only you control the direction of your attention.

Right?

Options

If someone’s behavior is bugging you, remember that your reaction is based on the way you’re framing the situation. Others may see no problem. Whatever the ultimate truth, you’ve got several options: 1) ask them to change; 2) distance yourself; or 3) find a way to accept them. You have every right to feel the way you do…

So do they.
