There’s a big difference between suffering and pain. Pain is a message from your body telling you to take notice or make an adjustment. It might be instructing you to move your hand away from a flame or encouraging you to stop banging your head against the wall (literally or figuratively.) Suffering, on the other hand, is the ongoing psychological and/or emotional anguish that’s created by the story you’re telling yourself about what’s happening. You can navigate life with a lot less suffering by choosing your stories wisely. Try this one:
