Sometimes hurt, sadness or anger is so deep that you’re completely consumed by it. Talking about it usually just keeps you stuck. When you find yourself in the middle of an emotional haze, rather than adding energy with words, pause and just sit still. Focus on your body and notice what’s going on and give yourself the attention you need. In the same way that the physical sensations arise and pass away, so too, will your feelings. Focusing on the body allows you to process feelings where they are – outside of the mind’s emotional web.
