The New Year is an opportunity to drop unwanted habits and begin new, healthy ones. However, unless we’ve done some deeper, personal work, it’s hard to avoid sliding back into old patterns. In order to re-create ourselves and successfully embody new ways of being, something has to change. We can only truly grow by acknowledging all our feelings, including the unpleasant, scary ones we’ve been ignoring or repressing.
