If our view of reality causes us to suffer, it’s worth asking ourselves if we believe so completely in our narrative that we can’t even imagine any other (less stressful) explanation of what’s happening. If we can, we don’t have to immediately change our point of view, we can just acknowledge that there are other, equally reasonable ways to interpret our experience.
